Once again Matt was our guide for both tours today and in the morning he and 2 guests made their way to Compass Pond and Sandy Stream Pond. The 2 guests from North Carolina were thrilled to see some loons and the rare sighting of a Maine black bear. In the evening Matt once again loaded his group in the NEOC van and set off for Baxter State Park to Sandy Stream Pond and Stump Pond. In addition to the beauty of Katahdin and the surrounding area they saw a ring necked duck with her 3 ducklings.
