What is that old saying in Maine…if you don’t like the weather just wait a minute? Well that was true today as we had both a morning and evening moose tour. Ken was the guide for both and the morning was sunny and calm so he took his group out on Millinocket Lake. They saw a duck with ducklings, loons, Canadian geese, a juvenile eagle catching and eating fish as well as an adult eagle. They also saw 4 otter and a cow moose! The evening was a different story, since we had a rain storm come in just before the tour, Ken decided to go by van. He headed to some of our secret moose hunting spots and delighted his group with some chimney swifts, osprey, a ruffed grouse, a wood duck, some snowshoe hares, a cow moose, and he even threw in a rainbow to top things off. Apparently instead of a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow here in Maine we have raspberries as they found the sweet treat of in-season berries. I would call that a very productive day!
