It was another hazy, hot and humid day in the Katahdin region, with the chance of storms possible throughout the day. Our Maine guide, Ken was able to get out on the water with his group of 2 in the morning and they had the pleasure of seeing loons and kingfishers, ring-neck ducks, a northern flicker, a bald eagle, a common tern, cormorants and a frog. With severe storms possible this evening, Ken opted to load his group of 9 into the NEOC van and up the Golden Road they went. Along the way to the Sofa Pit they saw a raven, ducks and Canada geese, barn swallows, 2 osprey, a red wing blackbird and some yummy wild Maine blueberries.
