  • Address: 135 Basecamp Road, Millinocket, ME 04462
  • Take Exit 244 off I-95
  • Take Route 11/157 west toward Millinocket
  • Follow Route 157 and signs to Baxter State Park (12 miles)
  • Drive through Millinocket following signs to Baxter State Park or Penobscot Outdoor Center
  • Continue straight for 14 miles out of town toward Baxter State Park
  • The drive becomes more wooded and less residential
  • Continue past New England Outdoor Center on Katahdin View Drive and Blackcat Road
  • Continue past Golden Road Crossing
  • Six miles past Golden Road Crossing, your driveway will be on the right (clearly marked)
  • Travel along the dirt road for about 1/2 mile to the parking lot
  • Check-in is located at the bottom of the hill
  • If you pass the Keep Maine Beautiful painted rock, turn around
  • The Penobscot Outdoor Center driveway is at the top of the hill near the rock
