We’ve got you and the snowmobile trail covered…

The quality and maintenance of a trail can make all the difference. Here at New England Outdoor Center we know that your snowmobiling experience starts with a great trail.

With 28 years of experience and support from the Twin Pine Snowmobile Club, we’re committed to providing our guests with a safe, fun and family-oriented snowmobiling environment on clear, well-marked, groomed trails.

Twin Pine Snowmobile Club has a fleet of 250 horsepower BR 400 Bombardier diesel groomers (used by major ski resorts) and a dedicated staff of snowmobile trail groomers. The Club makes sure over 130 miles of Maine snowmobile trails in the Katahdin region of Northern Maine are groomed as often as the weather and conditions allow.

Date Trail Report
March 23, 2012

It's hard to believe that just one short week ago we were still snowmobiling!  It's amazing what three days of 70 to 80 degree weather will do.  The winter of 2012 will go down as a very unusual one, that is for sure.  We had such a late start and abrupt end that it's a wonder we had snowmobiling at all.  Despite the setbacks though, the winter of 2012 was still a good one for the Katahdin Area.  The trails were wonderful, and we owe a LARGE "Thank You!" to The Sno-Rovers Club, Jo-Mary Riders, Northern Timber Cruisers, and Twin Pine Snowmobile Club for keeping our trail system in such great shape. Along with that, we owe special thanks to the dedicated folks who ran the groomers.  Your countless hours on the cold, dark, and lonely trails most definitely did not go unappreciated.  It is your dedication that brings people back to the Katahdin Area to ride our trails.

This year brought great changes to the New England Outdoor Center with the opening of the new River Driver's Restaurant and the Main Office at Twin Pine Camps.  The River Driver's was a wonderful success, serving great fare from 7a.m. until closing!  Having the Main Office at Twin Pines changed the check-in process for our guests and after smoothing out a few wrinkles, all worked out well.  Thank you to all of our guests for making 2012, thus far, a huge success!  You came as customers and left as family.  We look forward to your next visit!

Sincerely,

The Staff at New England Outdoor Center

P.S. In reference to the unprecedented hot spell that brought our riding to a crashing end, take heart in what NOAA has to say about it!

"To put things in perspective... This was a once in a lifetime warm spell for March, and not just here, but across much of the Northern Tier of the United States."

Let's hope they have that RIGHT!
