Activities at Twin Pines
This summer guests of Twin Pines are invited to participate in any of our on-site activities for FREE. Each day this summer starting in June guests can choose from a number of workshops, hikes or self-guided activities. We will also be hosting local speakers and coordinating special evening events. Please sign up at the main office. Participants in a position to do so may be asked to utilize their own vehicles to access our guided hikes and off-site activities. .

Lunch on the Look:
Join us for an informative lunch
hour on the point at Twin Pines. Bring your lunch
and take some time to learn more about the
surrounding ecology, natural history and cultural
history of the area. All ages welcome.
Saturdays at 12pm June 25th - August 27th
Owl Pellet Exploration:
Curious about owls?
During this activity we will learn about owls, their habitat and what they eat!
Appropriate for ages 4 & up.
Thursdays at 10am June 30 - August 25th
Twin Pine Crafts:
Try something new! Learn to tie knots, stamp leather,
knit or spin yarn. Have fun with fish prints, track molds
and fairy houses. Just bring your imagination and plan to
get to messy! All ages welcome. Children under 3 must be
accompanied by an adult. .
Tuesdays & Thursdays at 3pm June 28th - August
Introduction to Canoeing:
The vast system of rivers
and lakes is still a dynamic and spectacular way to
explore Maine and what better way to do that then
in a canoe. Come learn the basics from the parts of
the boat to a few strokes. Will have you on the water
paddling in no time! Appropriate for ages 8 & up.
Children must be accompanied by an adult.
Wednesdays at 10am & Thursdays at 7pm
June 29th - August 31st
Hike to the Ice Caves:
Join us for a exploration of the Debsconeag Wilderness Area. This moderate 2.5miles hike offers spectacular views of Katahdin and the
surrounding lake district. We will explore the local ecology, landscape and cultural history as we make our way to the ice caves and down in to them!
Appropriate for ages 5 & up. Children under the age of 7 must be accompanied by an adult

Tuesdays at 10am June 28th - August 30th
Bugs Abound Hike:
This forest jaunt will have you under logs, rocks and
in the streams. We are looking for bugs! So grab a net
and throw on your
adventuring shoes. Appropriate for ages 4 & up
.
Wednesdays at 10am June 29th - August 24th
All About Tracks:
Who is out there in the forests of Twin Pines? We are
going to find out! Come learn about animal tracks,
tracking and how to make a track mold! Ages 4 & up.
Fridays at 3:00pm June 24th - August 26th
Hike to Blueberry Ledges:
We're headed to
Baxter State Park! This easy 2 mile hike is an
accessible introduction to our nearest neighbor. Will we find blueberries?
Yes! Come learn about the history of the park, landscape and have fun.
Appropriate for ages 5 & up. Children under 7 must be accompanied by an adult

Black Cat Scavenger Hunt:
There is a ton to see right in our own backyard!
This easy hike is great for all ages and explores the
flora & fauna of Twin Pines. Children under 4 must be
accompanied by an adult.
