Our Maine Guide, Ken had high hopes as he and his group of four headed out on Millinocket Lake in search of MOOSE. It was a very chilly evening, perhaps the moose were at home in front of the fire because they certainly were not out tonight. The moose may not have cooperated but the birds certainly put on a show tonight! A Bald Eagle flew overhead and Belted Kingfishers darted about as the group enjoyed the stunning scenery. It was so cool to see a Blue Wing Teal and a Great Blue Heron AND a PEREGRINE FALCON!… but the real thrill was when the resident loons started their eerie calls and swam close to the boat. A mama loon was carrying her chick on her back! What a great night!
