It’s hot, but believe it or not in Maine there is a place where ice exists and you do not have to climb a mountain to see it. Join the New England Outdoor center for a fun, cool, adventure filled three days in the North Maine woods. We will treat you to a guided hike to the ice caves, a soft adventure river trip on the lower West Branch of the Penobscot River with waterslides and a moose cruise. You can’t find that at any amusement park, and you can leave the crowds behind! Our self-catering cabins on the shores of Millinocket Lake offer all the amenities of home as well as opportunities to canoe, swim, play, hike and visit Baxter State Park. Find the time for family this summer and get them outside!

Where would northern Maine be without moose? The resident wildlife at the New England Outdoor Center is an integral component of our resort stewardship and we want to acknowledge their contribution by educating everyone about them. Fox, eagle, moose, bear, and of course squirrels, are in abundance. This eco-friendly adventure includes: two nights at our “green” LEED certified Coveside Guesthouses at Twin Pines Camps, a moose tour on Millinocket Lake, as well as an interpretative wildlife hike and a primitive skills workshop in fire-starting. Don’t forget you will also have access to all the amenities of our Twin Pine Camps. The more the merrier for this specially designed package which can accommodate groups or multiple families. Camera and binoculars are a must!
