Comments: What a surprise to come around a corner on the trail and see a moose in the headlights!! It wouldn't get off the trail for about 3/10th of a mile or so... who could blame it? Tons of snow and all. Trails are beautiful, many thanks to the volunteers!

As winter approaches we have discontinued our Moose Tours by pontoon boat, canoe, kayak or vehicle until spring when a multitude of cows with calves will be roaming our sighting areas.

We had a tremendously successful year for sightings in 2007 and look forward to rewarding you with many sightings in 2008.

NOTE: We occasionally see moose and moose antler sheds during the winter while out on guided snowmobile rides... come take a guided snowmobile trip with us this winter!

October 7th:
Still running Moose Tours with advanced reservations. The weather is getting colder which moose like. The males are in "the rut" so they are out and about looking for females, eating and getting ready for winter. The foliage is spectacular and eagles, deer and bear are still out enjoying the cooler fall temperatures.

August 1st:
Went out in a comfortable pontoon boat from 5 to 8... we had beautiful views of Mt. Katahdin, saw a bald eagle, a baby muskrat, and went over to sandy beach to pick blueberries.

July 28th and 29th... With all the hot weather we have had a bit of trouble finding moose as they have taken cover in the shade... but now it is cooling off in the evenings the moose are back!!

Our recent trip with Matt we saw 5 moose total and 2 were up close. Greg went out yesterday July 30th and had a bit of a time finding them and then found two and a big bull up close and very personal. The guides seem to know where and how to find them. As the nights get cooler again we should see a surge in Moose sightings.

July 13, '07 7:00am - Went on a pontoon boat Moose Tour. Saw 3 moose, 1 deer, bald eagle, loons and babies, and a red squirrel swimming across the lake. We picked it up and gave it a ride to shore. Great morning!

July 10, '07 7:30pm - On an NEOC guided tour, my family saw 10 moose including a Cow and calf.
It was amazing!

June 30, '07 6:40 pm - Matt, Wendy and Staff pointed us to a spot and when my little girl Jessie saw those moose- her eyes lit up and made the entire trip worth every penny!
Thanks NEOC
